The Coshocton Hot Air Balloon Festival is one of the state’s longest-running balloon festivals, offering a vibrant array of family-friendly activities. The event also features a captivating night glow experience, a lively kiddie tractor pull, an antique flea market, and, weather permitting, breathtaking hot air balloon launches. This lively festival started when some creative folks thought Ravenna should honor its history of manufacturing toy balloons at the Oak Rubber Company. Those industrious citizens organized the first celebration, and what began as a few small events has grown into an exciting annual extravaganza with fun for all ages. Get ready for 4 days packed with activities.
The festivities kick off on Thursday with a children’s parade downtown Ravenna. Friday brings live music, a hot air balloon glow, food vendors, wine vendors, axe throwing, mechanical bull rides, and helicopter rides. Saturday offers even more with the grand parade, food and craft vendors, additional live music, a hot air balloon launch, static displays, a Jeep show, and fireworks. Sunday also features a variety of events. Admission is $5 per person per day, and kids under 12 get in free.

The parking entrance has moved to two lanes off Weaver Road at 15000 Weaver Road, Marysville. Parking costs $5, so please have the exact change ready if possible. Ticket sales at the gate accept cash only, but an ATM is on-site.
Everyone needs a ticket, regardless of age, for the Thursday evening performance – Thursday admission is included with the AOBF Thursday pass. Kids 10 and under get free admission on Friday and Saturday!
The Kids Fun Space will be open Friday and Saturday from 2 to 8 p.m. Handicapped and motorcycle parking areas are available.
Don’t miss the Daily Launch after 6 pm or the Nightly Glow show after dusk (weather permitting for safety reasons).
Please note that coolers, firearms, smoking/vaping, and non-service dogs are not allowed on the grounds. Our event is wheelchair accessible with a front gate drop-off area and paved event spaces.

Findlay businessman Dan Clinger founded the Flag City Balloon Fest in 1999. He gathered a team of family, friends, and volunteers dedicated to creating a local celebration for the new millennium in 2000. And what a celebration it was! The Ohio Challenge, one of Butler County’s most unique festivals, returns annually to Middletown’s Smith Park. This high-flying event showcases over 35 vibrant hot air balloons, a laser show, skydiving performances, fireworks, and more! Additionally, the festival offers a classic car show, carnival rides, live stage entertainment, and arts and crafts vendors. As one of the few summer balloon festivals in Ohio, the Ohio Challenge provides picturesque photo opportunities, family games and activities, and the beauty and wonder of aerial art. Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival Balloon Classic & Fireworks

The Balloon Classic Invitational started as a small event with just a few hot air balloons in 1985. In 1995, it merged with the Jackson-Belden Food Fest & Fireworks, making it a bigger and better family-friendly celebration. Today, the event features over 75 hot air balloons, including specially shaped ones like “Piggles,” the piggy bank, “Touchdown,” the giant flying football, “Sushi,” and “The American Rocketship.” These unique balloons add excitement and make the festival even more fun for kids and adults.

Soar to new heights at Wadsworth’s spectacular Balloons Over Wadsworth event on Saturday, August 10th, at the Wadsworth Municipal Airport! This year’s event is the most exciting yet, with a fantastic lineup of activities and entertainment for the whole family. The 2024 presenting organization is Inspire Aviation. Inspire Aviation is a 501c3 non-profit organization located in Wadsworth, Ohio. They aim to provide educational opportunities for youth and adults in the general public in aviation and STEM. They give the community a chance to learn about Aviation as a career or hobby through community events.
