Mesilla Valley Balloon Rally
Fields of Dreams
In 1985, the rally was known as the Whole Enchilada Balloon Rally. In 1988, it became known as the Mesilla Valley Balloon Rally. It included special shapes such as the Wells Fargo Stagecoach and Smokey the Bear.
The last Mesilla Valley Balloon Rally was held in 2011. Quite a few pilots and crew have great memories of this event and are eager to fly in this area again. Hearing this history and knowing that surrounding areas—Alamogordo, Belen, Deming, Raton, Artesia, and TorC—have balloon rallies, it is time to bring ballooning back to Las Cruces.
